Excellent for Pit Barrel Cooker
"I used this controller for a Pit Barrel Cooker (PBC). While the PBC typically is set it and forget it, it occasionally will drop temperature and deliver bad smoke or coals go out altogether. This can be expensive when a batch of food gets ruined (think 3 racks of ribs, a couple whole birds or a brisket). This Inkbird controller doesn't have an adapter that fits the PBC, but it isn't too hard to make one if you are handy. The controller works perfectly to monitor temperature and adjust fan speed to reach a target. It clearly has some intelligence built in to compensate to avoid overshooting temperatures too much. The fan speed is variable and isn't jarring enough to blow ash up around the food. The 4 food probes and ambient probe have plenty of length for reaching the food and to get setup on a table before putting the food into the cooker. My only concerns would be durability. It feels rather light-weight. Fortunately, they have replacement probes that can be purchased. The ultimate test is the quality of the food. My results so far were the best I've gotten out of the PBC. I would say it is well worth the purchase."
